Jimmie Mayo lives in North Atlanta, Georgia. He is the author of The Wasted Gospel, a graphic designer, a worship leader, and a speaker — though for a long time, he was mostly just a man running from himself.
He grew up the son of a worship pastor, raised in a family with generations of ministry leadership on both sides. He knew the language of faith before he knew the weight of his own story. For years, he carried both — the pulpit and the bottle, the version of himself people saw and the one he hid.
Alcohol nearly cost him everything. It took a year of treatment at No Longer Bound to give him his life back — almost two years sober now, with no end in sight.
He is divorced, and father to an eight-year-old son, London, who has taught him more about grace than most sermons ever did.
Jimmie attends and serves at a local church. The Wasted Gospel is his first book, with a podcast on the way.
